Caltrain Breakdown In Palo Alto Leads To Delays

PALO ALTO (CBS SF) – A broken-down train has been cleared from tracks at the Palo Alto station but delays for Caltrain commuters are persisting Friday morning, Caltrain officials said.

The problem was reported at about 7 a.m. when northbound train No.  305 had mechanical issues at Palo Alto. Trains were running on a single track through the area for more than 30 minutes as crews worked on removing the disabled train from the tracks, Caltrain officials said.

As of 7:38 a.m., the train had been moved from the tracks and both tracks were open, but residual delays were continuing.
