California Colleges Grab Top Spots On New Rankings List

BERKELEY (KCBS) -- A new ranking of schools puts California colleges in the limelight.

The list is by China's Shanghai Ranking Consultancy, and emphasizes the quality of faculty and research.

Harvard ranked as the world's best university, followed by Stanford and U.C. Berkeley.

Also in the top 15 on the Academic Ranking of World Universities: Cal Tech, UCLA, and U.C. San Diego.

U.C.S.F. took home 21st place on the list, with U.C. Davis at number 75, and U.C. Santa Cruz at 83.
