Crews Contain Brush Fire That Burned 20 Acres Near Morgan Hill

MORGAN HILL (CBS) -- Crews in the South Bay contained a fast-moving brush fire that quickly grew to over 15 acres and threatened 30 homes Friday afternoon.

The fire was first reported at about 3:15 p.m. in steep terrain east of Morgan Hill bordering Uvas Reservoir.

About 30 homes were threatened in the Uvas and Oak Glenn area and some precautionary evacuations were ordered but none burned.

Cal Fire air support planes and helicopters dropped retardant keeping the area burned to about 20 acres. No injuries have been reported.
