Busy Alameda Bridge Reopens After Mechanical Problems Force Closure

ALAMEDA (CBS SF) -- The Park Street Bridge in Alameda has reopened after a mechanical problem temporarily forced it to shut down Sunday afternoon, according to police.

The heavily trafficked four-lane bridge that spans the Oakland Estuary and is a main roadway into Downtown Alameda closed around 2 p.m. due to the mechanical issue.

Police said the bridge is now fully operational and open to traffic.
