Burglary Suspect Poses As Santa Rosa Employee Before Taking Items From County Office

SANTA ROSA (CBS SF) -- Police arrested a burglary suspect who allegedly broke into a Sonoma County office in Santa Rosa and posed as an employee, before taking several items Sunday morning.

Around 8:48 a.m., Santa Rosa police received a call from an employee at the Sonoma County Counsel Office located at 575 Administration Drive, police said.

The caller said she discovered a man inside the office wearing a suit and claiming he worked in the office. The caller knew the man was lying, as the offices were closed and no one was supposed to be inside the building, according to police.

Upon arrival, officers discovered the man had ransacked at least one office and entered several other ones.

When officers checked the nearby area, they located the man a short distance away and found that he had stolen a book and at least two suits and an additional suit jacket from the office, police said.

The employee who called police was able to positively identify the man as the same one she encountered inside the building.

Police identified the man as 25-year-old transient Seth Bolster.

After determining Bolster had not compromised any confidential information during the burglary, officers arrested him on suspicion of burglary and violation of parole, according to police.
