Burglar Caught Red-Handed Releasing Dogs, Wreaking Havoc In San Francisco Kennel

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- A burglar was caught red-handed by workers at a San Francisco kennel after releasing and riling up more than 30 dogs from their cages.

Police said 59-year old Michael Grunwald broke into K-9 Playtime last Friday, and surveillance cameras caught him throwing treats and food at the dogs, and letting them run wild around the store.

Police said Grunwald started filling bags with toys and food before employees arrived.

"The place was in shambles, a few dogs out here as well.  Grabbed those dogs and one of the staff grabbed the stun gun and told the gentleman to wait, and called police," K-9 Playtime owner Mark Pearl said.

Grunwald sat down when he saw the stun gun according to Pearl, and police arrived shortly after and arrested him.
