Brush Fire Burns In San Jose Alum Rock Park
SAN JOSE (CBS SF) -- A brush fire was burning in Alum Rock Park in San Jose Tuesday afternoon.
Flames were seen along the 15000 block of Penitencia Creek Road in the East San Jose foothills. It was estimated to be three to four acres at around 1:30 p.m.

The fire was originally reported at around 10:15 a.m. according to the San Jose Fire Department. Alum Rock Park was closed due to the fire which was burning in an inaccessible canyon area at the east end of the park.
Cal Fire SCU units were assisting with helicopter and air tankers.
A fire department spokeswoman said an initial knockdown on the fire was reported by 12:12 pm. Extensive mop-up work was expected and the fire department anticipated crews would remain on the scene for two to three hours.
