UPDATE Brush Fire Burning Near Benicia Contained at 20 Acres

SOLANO COUNTY (CBS SF) -- A vegetation fire that burned along I-680 near Benicia in Solano County was contained at 20 acres Monday afternoon, according to fire authorities.

Area fire departments and the Cal Fire Sonoma-Lake-Napa Unit responded to the vegetation fire burning off I-680 near Oakridge Lane that started shortly before 2 p.m.

Cal Fire tweeted about assisting with the incident -- being referred to as the Goodyear Fire -- shortly before 2:30 p.m.

Fire units working the fire near Marshall Road on I-680 were impacting traffic, closing the right lane according to reports.

A second alarm has been called on the fire and Cal Fire air support has been called, authorities said.

As of about 3 p.m., there were reports that some resources being provided by supporting agencies had been released from the fire and forward progress had been stopped.

The Cordelia Fire Protection District confirmed at around 4 p.m. the fire had been contained at 20 acres.
