Brentwood Residents Beaten With Baseball Bats In Home Invasion

BRENTWOOD (CBS SF) -- Two residents were assaulted with baseball bats or other blunt objects during a home invasion in Brentwood on Wednesday, police said.

The two residents were sleeping in their home when three people forced their way inside, likely through a rear glass door, police said.

Both residents were beaten with a baseball bat or other blunt object, police said.

On Wednesday, police said detectives were still trying to determine if anything was taken from the home, but said the incident did not appear to be a random act.

Police and fire personnel were called to the home in the 1600 block of Dill Court just after 4 a.m., according to police and fire officials.

One of the patients was taken in a medical helicopter to John Muir Medical Center, East Contra Costa Fire Protection District officials said. The other patient was transported in an ambulance.

Brentwood police did not immediately return a call today for an update on the case.
