OAKLEY (CBS SF) -- A Brentwood police officer is recovering today after being injured in a car crash with a suspected drunk driver in Oakley early Thursday morning, police said.

The on-duty officer was driving his patrol car on Brentwood Boulevard near Delta Road when the driver of a truck failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection and plowed into his car, according to police.

The officer was airlifted to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek, where he was treated for moderate injuries and later released.

Police said the driver of the second car, identified as 25-year-old Joshua Juhl of Oakley, was treated for minor injuries suffered in the crash.
