Bomb Squad Detonates Dynamite Found Outside Of SF Federal Courthouse

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- The bomb squad blew up an apparent explosive device outside the San Francisco Federal Building Monday night.

A man on the street reported a stick of dynamite in an SUV near the Federal Courthouse on Golden Gate Avenue just before 8 p.m., according to police.

The San Francisco Police Department's bomb squad responded and shut down streets in the area. They rendered the suspected explosives safe, drove the SUV away and reopened the streets by 10 p.m.
