Body Found Off Highway 1 Where Car Registered To Elderly Missing Man Went Off Road

FAIRFAX (CBS SF) -- A body has been found off of Highway 1 in Marin County where a vehicle registered to an elderly man missing for more than a month went off the road.

The CHP says a silver 2001 Toyota Camry went down an embankment on state Highway 1 just north of Fairfax-Bolinas Road in West Marin County around 10:30 Tuesday morning.

Police at the scene told KPIX 5 that car belongs to 93-year-old Robert Leslie Davis, who has been missing since February 26th. Davis' family had been offering a five-thousand dollar reward for any information leading to his whereabouts.

Authorities had yet to release the identity of the body found down the embankment.

When the CHP arrived at the scene, the doors of the vehicle were open and the vehicle's air bags had been deployed. The body was found a couple of hours later.
