Body Found On Interstate 880 In Downtown Oakland

OAKLAND (CBS SF) – The California Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal collision involving a pedestrian on northbound Interstate Highway 880 in Oakland early Tuesday morning.

The collision was initially reported around 5:10 a.m. on northbound Highway 880 near the Market Street exit.

A person was struck by a car, but investigators do not know if that was the cause of death, according to the CHP.

Authorities shut down lanes of the highway for more than two hours while they investigated the death. All lanes reopened by about 7:30 a.m., CHP officials said.
