BMW Driver Carjacked In San Francisco's South Of Market
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) – San Francisco police are investigating a carjacking that occurred in the city's South of Market neighborhood on Tuesday night.
The carjacking was reported at about 8 p.m. at Fremont and Howard streets.
The 42-year-old victim was stopped at a red light at the intersection when a suspect jumped into the passenger seat and had his hand in his pants simulating that he had a gun, according to police.
The suspect ordered the man to drive down the street and get out of the vehicle. The victim complied and the suspect then moved over to the driver's seat and fled in the car eastbound on Howard Street, police said.
No weapon was seen during the carjacking and the victim was not injured.
The suspect, described as a man in his mid 40s, remained at large with the red four-door BMW 325i as of Wednesday morning, according to police.
