Bicyclist Suffers Life-Threatening Injuries After Collision With Car In Berkeley Intersection

BERKELEY (CBS SF) -- Berkeley police were investigating a serious accident involving a car and a bicyclist Sunday morning.

Officers were called out to the intersection of Eunice and Spruce Streets on reports of a bicyclist down.  When they arrived, they realized that the cyclist had collided with a car.

The bicyclist suffered life-threatening injuries, and was transported to nearby hospital for treatment.  He was last listed in critical condition.

Investigators say that the involved motorist and witnesses are cooperating with investigators.    A special investigative team has been called out to the scene and we're told that the intersection will be closed off to traffic for the next several hours.
