Bicyclist Riding Against Traffic Without Lights Killed In San Jose Crash

SAN JOSE (CBS SF) -- A fatal crash involving a bicyclist took a man's life in San Jose Saturday night, police said.

Officers responded to the vicinity of Landess and Morrill avenues at 9:54 p.m. Saturday on report of a crash.

Investigators determined that the bicyclist was headed north on Morrill Avenue, against traffic, with no lights on the bike. The victim had been struck by a white 2004 Infinity in the southbound lanes, police said.

He was injured, and later pronounced dead at a local hospital, according to police.

The victim has been identified by the Santa Clara County medical examiner's office, police said, but his name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
