Bicyclist Injured In Crash With Car In San Francisco's Hayes Valley

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- A bicyclist was injured Tuesday morning during a collision with a vehicle in San Francisco's Hayes Valley neighborhood, police and fire officials said.

The crash occurred at about 8:45 a.m. at the intersection of Market Street and Octavia Boulevard, fire officials said.

The bicyclist was conscious following the crash but was transported to a hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening, according to fire officials.

San Francisco police spokeswoman Officer Grace Gatpandan said this afternoon, "There are currently no independent witnesses who could corroborate either the bicyclist's side or the driver's side," but she said it appears that the driver was on Octavia Boulevard and proceeding onto the Central Freeway when the crash occurred.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
