Bicycle Belonging To Teen Found In Shallow Grave At Sonoma State University Still Missing

ROHNERT PARK (CBS SF) -- Sonoma County sheriff's investigators are still searching Monday for the bicycle of a slain teen whose body was found in a shallow grave at Sonoma State University last week.

Kirk Kimberly, 18, of Cotati, was found dead from multiple stab wounds at the campus Wednesday afternoon. Sheriff's officials said they believe the homicide was a random act and is unrelated to any other crimes.

Kimberly was missing since Oct. 17. Detectives believe he had no link to Sonoma State or its students except for where his body was found. A landscaper discovered it in a secluded and isolated area of the campus west of a parking lot.

Kimberly's men's bicycle is a white 2011 Cannondale Quick CX 3 mountain bike with recently installed road tires that have reflective material built into sidewalls, according to the sheriff's office.

Sheriff's officials have released a photo of the bicycle. Anyone with information about the bike is asked to call (707) 565-2185.
