Every year, many people feel a general sense of dread around tax season. Both for those that owe the IRS as well as for those whom expect a refund, filing annual income tax often brings up feelings of stress. For Bay Area residents looking to reward themselves with a little unwinding after this hectic season, there are a number of great area tax day deals. There is something for everyone, from those looking to splurge on a mini vacation or those looking to just get away from it all and spend some quality time out in nature. Here are five of the Bay Area's best tax day deals.

Close to the Fillmore Auditorium and nestled in Japantown, Hotel Kabuki provides a tranquil respite amid fast-paced city life. The hotel showcases a Japanese-style garden complete with koi pond, and rooms feature large soaking tubs and shoji screens. As part of the Joie de Vivre hotel group, Hotel Kabuki is one of their northern California hotels participating in the company's Countdown to Tax Day, which allows guests a 20% discount off hotel stays. Guests can take advantage of the discount between April 18 and June 30, and certain blackout dates apply.

Nestled in the heart of San Francisco's Financial District, the Royal Exchange has long been a popular spot for casual after work dinner and drinks. April 18 marks the beginning of the 2016 National Park Week, where select National Parks around the country offer admission free-of-charge. While the Bay Area is home to a number of National Parks, the Muir Woods National Monument is one of the few participating in the free admission program. Muir Woods offers the perfect spot for those looking to unwind after a hectic tax season, and even those owing at the end of the year can look forward to a free respite among the trees. The park is open daily from 8 A.M. to 8 P.M., and admission is free from the 18 through the 24.

Since 2007, Glen Park's Le P'tit Laurent has been serving dinner to locals seven days a week. Sunday through Thursday this classic French bistro dishes up a neighborhood menu consisting of two courses for a set price, while the Friday and Saturday night menu offers an extended complete menu with more options. For the 2016 tax season, as part of the weekday neighborhood menu, Le P'tit Laurent will be offering a special Tax Season Menu. For just $20.16, diners can enjoy a two course diner of appetizer and main course. This year's special will run through April 21st.
