Famed TV Chef Arrested For DUI, Controlled Substance Possession

YOUNTVILLE (KCBS) -- Local chef and restaurateur Michael Chiarello was arrested Wednesday morning and charged with driving under the influence and possession of a controlled substance.

Napa County public records indicate Chiarello was arrested at 3:27 a.m. on Nov. 2 near the intersection of Yountville Cross Road and the Silverado Trail.

He was booked at 4:46 a.m. at Napa and released at 7:28 a.m. on 5-thousand dollars bail.

Chiarello declined comment when contacted by the Chronicle.

The 54-year-old Chiarello owns Bottega in downtown Yountville, about two and a half miles away from the incident, and Coqueta in San Francisco.

Over the last decade, he has appeared on the Food Network and Bravo.
