BART Trains Delayed After Smoke Pours From Train In Transbay Tube

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- BART passengers can expect trains to be delayed by at least 15 minutes on the Daly City line due to an equipment problem that passengers said caused smoke to fill a train traveling through the Transbay Tube toward the East Bay Monday night.

Shortly before 10 p.m., BART officials said passengers should expect delays on the Daly City line in the Dublin, SFO and Daly City directions due to a mechanical issue.

Passengers onboard the trains used Twitter to share photos of the smoke-filled cars at the West Oakland BART station.

The nature of the mechanical issue has not yet been released.

One rider shared a picture of the smoke filled train on Twitter.
