BART Service To Richmond Resumes After Report Of Person Under Train In North Berkeley

BERKELEY (CBS SF) -- BART officials said service to Richmond has resumed, though it will be delayed and bypassing North Berkeley station as crews continue to investigate a report of a person under a train, officials said.

Officials closed the North Berkeley station at 4:26 p.m. following a report of a medical emergency and had shut down service between El Cerrito del Norte and Downtown Berkeley stations.

As of 5:40 p.m., BART officials had reopened service to Richmond, although a spokeswoman said riders should expect delays and be prepared to bypass North Berkeley.

There is no estimated time of when the station will reopen, nor is there any information on the condition of the person reported under the train.
