BART Service Restored After Pine Needle Fire On Tracks

(CBS SF) -- BART officials Wednesday morning said the system is running on time again following delays due to pine needles catching fire on the tracks.

Officials say the small fire started at about 5:30 a.m. near the track's third rail in between Glen Park and Balboa Park stations.

The train operator was able to put out the fire. No injuries were reported.

BART officials said the fire is out, and the track was inspected and deemed safe. All trains are currently running.

Various delays this morning have been impacting trains since about 4 a.m.
