BART service halted between Castro Valley, West Dublin/Pleasanton stations because of power issue

A power issue temporarily stopped BART service between the Castro Valley and West Dublin/Pleasanton stations Thursday morning.

Just after 9 a.m., BART alerted about a minor delay on the Blue between the two stations line because of a "PG&E power issue." By 9:27 a.m., BART reported train service was stopped between the Castro Valley and West Dublin/Pleasanton stations in both directions.

BART said Wheels was providing bus service between West Dublin/Pleasanton station and the Dublin/ Pleasanton on any Rapid bus.

As of 10:04 a.m., BART said the system was recovering from the issue but that a major delay remained for service to Dublin/Pleasanton because of the earlier power issue.

About 30 minutes after that problem was resolved, a second issue surfaced that halted train service between Rockridge and Orinda on the Antioch line, officials said. BART later confirmed that also stemmed from a power outage in Orinda.

Crews are working to resolve the problem and the agency is setting up a bus bridge to get around the area.

The outages come as the San Francisco Bay Area is buffeted by gusty winds, with much of the region under a wind advisory through either early Thursday evening or late Friday morning.
