Man Arrested For San Francisco Civic Center Station Bomb Threat
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) – A man was arrested Friday morning after he allegedly said he planted two bombs in BART's Civic Center station in San Francisco, a BART spokesman said.
Police arrested 46-year-old Don Stevens on suspicion of making a false bomb threat and interfering with railroad operations.
Civic Center station at 1150 Market St. was closed for about an hour starting at about 9:30 a.m. after a witness heard the man say he had planted the bombs.

No trains traveled through the station and police evacuated it. Westbound trains turned around at Montgomery station and eastbound trains at 24th Street station, according to BART officials.

The threat caused major delays throughout the BART system.
The search also halted San Francisco Municipal Railway service through Civic Center station. Above the station, the 1100 block of Market Street was closed to both vehicle traffic and pedestrians.

The station reopened just before 10:30 a.m. after police searched it with dogs, BART officials said. Commuters were faced with some residual delays.
