BART Trains Briefly Held As Police Investigate Report Of Armed Suspect

WALNUT CREEK (CBS SF) -- Trains were briefly held at the Walnut Creek BART station Saturday morning after a man allegedly threatened people at the station with a gun.

At around 9:10 a.m., police responded to the station after receiving a report of the incident, BART police Lt. Randy Gregson said.

Officers searched the area for an armed suspect but were unable to locate anyone, according to Gregson.

The police activity caused trains to be held at the station and resulted in a 10-minute delay on the Pittsburg/Bay Point Line in the San Francisco International Airport and Millbrae directions, BART officials said.

BART has since recovered from the earlier delay.

There were no reports of any injuries, according to Gregson.
