Update: BART service between Fruitvale, Coliseum restored after nearby fire extinguished
OAKLAND – BART service has been restored between the Fruitvale and Coliseum stations in East Oakland after a nearby fire prompted a shutdown Tuesday morning.
Around 10:40 a.m., the transit agency announced that a fire broke out adjacent to the track. As a result, service on the Orange, Green and Blue lines through the area were suspended.
In response, AC Transit launched a bus bridge between the two stations.
Shortly before 11 a.m., officials announced that the fire was extinguished but service remained on hold as crews inspected for possible damage.

Around 11:35 a.m., BART announced that inspections were completed and service between the Fruitvale and Coliseum stations has resumed. Riders are being urged to add extra time for travel.
