Attorney General Kamala Harris May Face Ethics Investigation Over Gifts

SAN FRANCISCO (KPIX 5) – California Attorney General Kamala Harris may be investigated for an ethics violation, over gifts she received from a San Francisco interior designer.

According to the Los Angeles Times, the Fair Political Practices Commission sent a letter to Harris, who is running for U.S. Senate in 2016.

The commission said it is concerned about furnishings, accessories and other services she received from Ken Fulk, Inc. that were over the gift limit.

State law prohibits elected officials from getting gifts totaling more than $460 in a calendar year. It's not clear what the value is of the items Harris got from Fulk.

Currently, the commission is asking for a response from harris, which we are told is pending. If that doesn't happen, an investigation will begin.

The Los Angeles attorney representing Harris said, "Ken Fulk is a personal friend of the attorney general's, and we're confident this will be resolved quickly and easily."

Fulk has not issued a response Tuesday.
