Arrest Made In Boles Fire

WEED, Siskiyou County (KCBS) — An arrest was made Saturday morning in connection to last September's Boles Fire in Siskiyou County, which burned almost 500 acres and destroyed more than 160 structures, authorities said.

Ronald Beau Marshall, 24, of Weed was was arrested and booked into jail.

Sgt. Justin Mayberry from the Weed Police Department said the arrest is the result of a partnership between his department, CalFire, and the Siskiyou County Sheriff's Office.

"He's been charged with three counts: Arson of an inhabited structure or property, arson of a structure or forest, and arson of property of another," Mayberry said.

The investigation is still on-going, Mayberry said, and how exactly the fire was started remains a question.

The Boles fire started on Sept. 15 and hit the small town of Weed especially hard burning down almost 150 homes and leaving many other uninhabitable.
