Armed Suspect Sought Following Oakland Shooting

OAKLAND (CBS SF) -- Police are seeking an armed suspect after a shooting in Oakland Sunday left one man injured, police said.

Police responded to the 1900 block of 89th Avenue at 3:10 p.m. on a report of a shooting, said Officer J. Moore.

Moore said officers arrived to find a man with a gunshot wound and transported him to the hospital in stable condition. Moore said the shooting took place outside.

He said he did not know how many times the man was shot or where he was wounded.

Officers are searching for the shooter, an adult man, who they believe is armed, Moore said.

Oakland police also responded to a report of a shooting Saturday in the 7500 block of MacArthur Boulevard at 6:15 p.m., Moore said.

He said the shooter targeted a man who was in a car at the time.

The bullet pierced the vehicle, but missed the man, Moore said.

Police do not have a suspect in that case, he said.
