Gunman, Hostage Killed In San Jose Cambrian Neighborhood Standoff
SAN JOSE (CBS SF) -- A standoff involving an armed suspect holding a woman hostage and police in San Jose's Cambrian neighborhood Monday ended with the death of both the gunman and the hostage, according to KPIX 5.

At least one police officer was injured during the incident, either by a grazed bullet or by flying debris. The circumstances surrounding how the gunman and hostage died or knew each other was unclear.
Officers responded to a report of an armed male suspect who took a female hostage at a home in the 4400 block of Camden Avenue around 2:15 p.m., police Officer Albert Morales said.
The suspect fired two shots into the ground before going inside the home, Morales said.
Sources tell KPIX the woman was shot and killed shortly after the suspect entered the house.
Officers set up a perimeter in the area and were negotiating with him to exit the home, Morales said.
Traffic has been diverted away from the area. The police response has resulted in cars backed up on state Highway 85 at Branham Lane, California Highway Patrol Officer Ross Lee said.
Motorists were advised to find alternate routes, CHP officials said.
