Coroner Determines Man's Death At Apple Headquarters Was Suicide

CUPERTINO (CBS SF) – The Santa Clara County medical examiner's office has determined that a man found dead Wednesday morning outside Apple's headquarters in Cupertino died by suicide, according to a statement issued Thursday afternoon.

Sheriff's deputies responded to the scene around 8:35 a.m.  Wednesday found the decedent, identified as 25-year-old Edward Thomas Mackowiak, at 1 Infinite Loop around 8:35 a.m.

Investigators determined that Mackowiak was an employee. They believe the death was an isolated incident, and foul play is not suspected.  There was no risk to other employees or members of the public, according to police.

Further details were not immediately available.
