Apple Changes Tune On Felons Working At 'Campus 2' Construction Site

CUPERTINO (CBS SF) -- Apple is backtracking on its policy that banned construction workers with recent felonies at its new campus in Cupertino.

Apple released a statement Thursday saying that there was never a blanket policy against hiring people with felony convictions, but that the background process for the "Apple Campus 2" project ended up turning away some applicants because of felony convictions in the past seven years.

"We believe in opportunity for everyone," the statement read.

The company will evaluate all applicants on a case-by-case basis now.
