Animated Hit 'Trolls' Has A Quirky Link To Northern California

LOS ANGELES (CBS SF) -- DreamWorks Animation's "Trolls" made $46.6 million on opening weekend -- pretty big bucks for a movie about little dolls.

The movie stars Anna Kendrick, Justin Timberlake, Zooey Deschanel, Russell Brand, James Corden, Gwen Stefani, John Cleese and a host of others.

According to the film's directors, much of the script was written in the Northern California town of Sebastopol. At one point, they actually considered naming the movie's town, 'Sebastotroll.'

"For a brief moment we almost named Troll Village Sebastatroll," says director Mike Mitchell. "We spent so much time there."

Small world!

Co-director Walt Dohrn raises llamas there, and said that's why the creatures in Troll Village look so goofy and fuzzy.

Check out Liam Mayclem's entire interview with Mike and Walt and see Justin Timberlake at work on the soundtrack in the video clip at the top of this page!
