A Unique Father's Day Gift – Steph Curry's Mouthguard

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) – So you're looking for a unique Father's Day gift this year or maybe an early Christmas present for the hard to buy for dad.

Well, if your father walks around the house in his Golden State Warriors jersey, lives and dies with every Steph Curry and Klay Thompson 3-point bomb and daydreams about a Draymond Green block of a LeBron James at the rim – we have a gift for you.

Southern California-based SCP Auctions has obtained the mouthguard Curry flung to the ground during a game and was scooped up by a fan.

"Steph Curry has given more life to mouthguards than any player in history," said Dan Imler, vice president of the auction house, in a press release. "The way he flips it in and out of his mouth has become part of watching him during a game."

Imler says he expects the mouthguard to bring in at least $5,000 when it goes up for auction later this summer.

The mouthpiece will come in a carrying case with the words "Curry" etched on the side.

It's not the first mouthguard to be put up for auction by SCP. The Laguna Niguel sports memorabilia company auctioned off Muhammad Ali's mouthpiece from his final bout for $6,700 in 2013.
