Alert Concord Resident Foils Burglary In Progress

CONCORD (CBS SF) -- A resident foiled a residential burglary last Sunday morning in Concord after noticing a broken window and calling it in, according to police.

The resident noticed a man walking around his neighbor's property in the 3800 block of Bayview Circle at about 8:45 a.m., police said. He also noticed that a window had been broken, according to police.

Police responding to the area found a suspect matching the reporting party's description, police said. The suspect was in possession of several items taken from the burglarized home, according to police.

The suspect, a 20-year-old concord resident, was positively identified by the witness and arrested on suspicion of residential burglary, police said.

Concord police thanked the vigilant neighbor for making the arrest possible. Officers recovered all of the victim's property, police said.
