Alaska Airlines' Gay Travel Webpage Offers Discounts To Pride Events, Wedding Destinations

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- Alaska Airlines has added an LGBT Travel section to its website, offering discounts to pride celebrations, gay wine tastings, and LGBT events across the country.

The Seattle-based airline says it created the gay microsite as "longtime supporters of the LGBT community" and same-sex marriage.

"We were elated when the State of Washington expressed the same commitment by legalizing marriage for everyone, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. To show our continued support we are encouraging the LGBT community to travel, not only to Seattle, but to Pride events and gay friendly destinations all over the country."

Discounts range from seven to ten percent on destinations that include Hawaii, Palm Springs, Puerta Vallarta, Seattle, San Francisco, as well as ski resorts.

The microsite has a page devoted to LGBT wedding destinations. On it, the airline writes, " we are proud to be flying to 23 of the states (plus Washington, D.C) supporting marriage equality."

The guide offers ideas for weddings, honeymoons and bachelor/bachelorette getaways.

Delta, Southwest, American and Jet Blue have similar microsites devoted to LGBT travel.
