Alameda County District Attorney Investigator Placed On Leave Amid Allegations Of Inappropriate Texts
OAKLAND (CBS SF) -- An investigator with the Alameda County District Attorney's Office has been placed on administrative leave Monday following allegations of inappropriate text messaging.
The investigator is only the latest East Bay law enforcement official to be placed on administrative leave in recent weeks.
On June 15th, an inspector in the Alameda County District Attorney's Office was also placed on administrative leave.
The Oakland Police Department is dealing with allegations that 14 of its officers are embroiled in a sex scandal, allegations that some officers have been engaging in racist text messages as well as allegations that an officer was allowing his girlfriend to write his reports for him.
The Alameda County District Attorney's Office said the investigator's leave of absence does not have to do with the sexual misconduct investigation, but rather with allegations regarding "inappropriate texts."
The district attorney's office is continuing to conduct an investigation into allegations of widespread sexual misconduct involving police officers at multiple Bay Area law enforcement agencies.
