Alameda Bar Owner Arrested For Allegedly Biting Police Officer

ALAMEDA (KPIX 5) -- The owner of a newly-opened bar in Alameda is facing charges, after authorities said he bit a police officer in the leg while resisting arrest.

According to police, Mark Strachan was intoxicated when he asked officers about an issue happening outside his new bar, Capone's Speakeasy.

Police said they asked him to move along, but after noticing how drunk he was, officers tried to place him under arrest. Strachan reportedly resisted and instead bit an officer in the leg.

Officers were eventually able to arrest Strachan.

The bar owner is charged with resisting arrest and battery on a police officer.

Capone's Speakeasy could also have its alcohol license revoked.
