Bay Area Airports Not Among Nation's Best, Customers Say

SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) – The Bay Area's three major airports didn't do all that great in a newly-released customer survey.

The J.D. Power North America Airports Satisfaction Survey asked travelers to rate airports in a number of areas ranging from baggage claim accessibility and security checks to food and beverage services.

The score for San Francisco International Airport (SFO) was about average for the nation's large airports, coming in at number 21 on the list.

Mineta San Jose International Airport (SJC) ranked number 21 on the list for medium size airports, another average score.

Oakland International Airport (OAK) was nearer to the bottom of the medium sized airport list, 30 out of 33.

The nation's favorite airport according to J.D. Power is in Portland, Oregon. PDX received high scores for easy access and good food and drink.
