Actor Bruce Campbell Says Conservative Tweet Was Faked
(AP) - "Ash vs. Evil Dead" star Bruce Campbell is setting the record straight after he says a conservative Twitter account co-opted a photo of a bloody makeup test for one of his co-stars.
A Twitter account called Conservative Nation tweeted a photo Monday of an apparently bloodied woman along with the note: "Here's what happened to female Trump supporter when she met 'peaceful' and 'tolerant' liberals." Campbell tweeted Tuesday that the photo is actually a picture of actress Samara Weaving. Weaving appeared in several episodes of the Starz series.
Check your facts, folks. This is an actress named Samara Weaving from #AshVsEvilDead. This is a make-up test. Sad. https://t.co/JAAM8VWry6

Campbell adds: "Check your facts, folks."
A surprised Weaving responded to Campbell's tweet, also through Twitter. "Thank you @groovybruce for clearing this up….I am horrified that my show still is being used for conservative propaganda."

The original tweet from Conservative Nation has been deleted. USA Today has a screen shot of the graphic image, here. It's unclear who's behind the account and it hasn't responded to a tweet requesting comment.
