Police: Still No Leads In SoCal Abduction Of 4 Children

LOS ANGELES (CBS/AP) -- Los Angeles police said Sunday they have no solid leads that might help find two parents who allegedly abducted their four children from a grandmother's home.

A statewide Amber Alert was issued early Saturday after the children -- two boys ages 5 and 7, and twin 1-year-old girls -- were taken.

The suspects are Rose Chairez, a 28-year-old Hispanic female and Enrique Felix, a 28-year-old Hispanic male. Police said they fled in a dark-colored PT Cruiser with paper license plates and a missing right-rear hubcap.

The children, all Hispanic, are 5-year-old Justin Felix, 7-year-old Enrique Felix, 1-year-old Veronica Felix and 1-year-old Janeth Felix.

Police said the children were in protective custody with their grandmother because their father was physically abusive.

Los Angeles Police Officer Sally Madera said that while detectives are actively working the case, "as of right now, unfortunately, there have been no leads." She encouraged the public to contact police with any tips.

Police said the children were taken from their maternal grandmother's home in the 1400 block of North Indiana Street about 12:30 p.m. Friday.
