911 Calls Reveal Moments After Magnitude 6.0 Earthquake Struck Napa

NAPA (CBS SF) -- Police have released tapes of 911 calls that came in right after last month's 6.0 earthquake that struck the Napa Valley.

Panicked callers reported power outages, natural gas leaks and injuries moments after the quake struck around 3:20 a.m. on August 24. The more serious calls involved a person having a seizure, and one person was trapped in a chair lift.

The calls were released as President Barack Obama declared the quake damaged region a disaster area on Thursday, opening the door for federal aid.

A 65-year-old woman died from injuries resulting from the earthquake. A 13-year-old boy who was seriously injured when a chimney fell on him has returned home from the hospital.
