81-Year-Old Woman Hospitalized After Violent Robbery In Oakland

OAKLAND (CBS SF) -- An 81-year-old woman is recovering at a local hospital from injuries she suffered during a violent street robbery in East Oakland on Saturday afternoon, police said.

The woman was walking in the 3200 block of 23rd Avenue at about 2:40 p.m. on Saturday when multiple suspects approached her and began struggling with her over her personal belongings, according to police.

The suspects fled the scene before officers arrived and the woman was transported to a local hospital with moderate injuries, police said.
