77-Year-Old San Jose Man With Dementia Missing Since Friday Night

SAN JOSE (CBS SF) – Police have released a physical description of an elderly man suffering from dementia who has been missing from San Jose's Evergreen neighborhood since Friday evening, a police spokesman said Monday.

Robert Leste, 77, was last seen leaving his home in the 3900 block of Loganberry Drive around 7 p.m. Friday, police Sgt. Enrique Garcia said.

Leste is considered at-risk and the California Highway Patrol has issued a Silver Alert asking for the public's help in locating him, according to Garcia.

He is described as standing about 6 feet 1 inch tall, weighing 180 pounds with a bald head and blue eyes, according to Garcia.

Leste was last seen wearing a white baseball hat, blue shirt, black jeans, brown coat and a green reflective vest, Garcia said. He is known to take long walks without returning home, according to police.

Anyone with information on Leste's whereabouts is asked to call 911 or police Detective Manny Guerrero of the department's missing persons unit at (408) 277-4786.
