Will $6,500 For A 1-Bedroom Apartment In San Francisco Become The New Normal?

(CBS SF) -- The latest San Francisco housing market shocker comes courtesy of 435 Duboce Avenue, where a one-bedroom apartment will cost you $6,500 a month.

Hoodline reports the top, third floor apartment offers wide city views, marble counter tops, housecleaning services and a sound-proofed interior to tune out noise from the N-Judah Muni streetcar just a few steps outside.

And at 981 square feet, or $7 a square foot, be prepared to shell out $13,000 for the the security deposit.

As of May, the average rent for a 1-bedroom in San Francisco is $3,803.

Hoodline points out Craigslist shows only five other 1-bedroom apartments in the entire city that are available for $6,500 or more.
