6 Displaced By Mountain View House Fire

MOUNTAIN VIEW (CBS SF) -- Six people were displaced in a two-alarm residential fire in Mountain View on Monday afternoon, a fire spokesman said Tuesday.

Firefighters responded to a report of smoke showing in the 200 block of Lassen Avenue around 2:40 p.m., fire spokesman Lynn Brown said.

Crews arrived to the scene where they found two single-family homes in flames and brought the fire under control shortly before 3:15 p.m., Brown said.

Brown did not know if the displaced residents received assistance from the American Red Cross, family or friends.

No injuries were reported.

A damage estimate was not immediately available Tuesday afternoon.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
