Multi-Car Crash On NB 101 Just North Of Golden Gate Bridge On Day 1 Of New Median Barrier

SAUSALITO (KCBS) — Four vehicles were involved in a collision on northbound Highway 101 Monday morning, just north of the Golden Gate Bridge and within the zone of the new movable barriers installed over the weekend.

The collisions happened in the inside lane closest to the barrier just before 8 a.m. near Vista Point.

Due to the new median barriers installed over the weekend, the lanes are six-inches narrower.

There were no reports of injuries and all the vehicles were removed by 8:20 a.m.

The California Highway Patrol and Golden Gate Bridge Highway and Transportation District are investigating the cause but initial report said that the median barrier was not the cause.

This a developing story. KCBS' Holly Quan is at the scene and will have more information as soon as possible. Listen to KCBS live or tune in to 740AM & 106.9FM for the latest.
