5 Gorgeous Aerial Images Of Bay Area Fog Losing The Battle With The Summer Sun

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) - Every indication is that Thursday will be the warmest day of the week around the Bay Area, with temperatures reaching above 100 in about 20 nearby cities.

"High pressure continues to build in, but it will be short lived," reports KPIX's Roberta Gonzales. "It will be much cooler at the coast Friday."

San Francisco saw its familiar fog burn off early, as captured by KCBS traffic reporter Ron Cervi. Check out the photos of the Golden Gate that he captured during the morning commute:

Gonzales reports that things will cool down for the next few days before warming back to near 100 degrees inland early next week. We can expect lows in the 60s near the coast Friday with things remaining in the 90s range inland.
