49ers Tweak Traffic And Parking Plans For Santa Clara's Levi's Stadium After Open House Event

SANTA CLARA (KCBS)— The San Francisco 49ers are making some last-minute changes to their parking and traffic plans for Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara. The alterations come after hearing some feedback during last week's open house events.

While season ticket holders mostly raved about the new stadium, there was some grumbling about the traffic.

"We got a lot of great feedback, but we did have some parking, transportation and traffic concerns," said Al Guido, the 49ers' Chief Operating Officer.

The open house wasn't a true test of their parking and transportation plans because it was held on a Friday afternoon, one of the busiest times of the week for traffic.

Nonetheless, the team is sending out updated instructions to season ticket holders for how to get to their parking lots, which Guido hopes fans will actually follow.

"Most people want to hop on their GPS or their navigation and they want to get directly to the stadium and that's not necessarily what we want you to do. We want you to take directions that are best to get you in and get you out of the building as a part of our traffic and transportation plan," he said.

He also encourages fans to download the 49ers mobile app, which sends out traffic alerts and updates.

The next test will be this Saturday when the San Jose Earthquakes host the Seattle Sounders in the first official sporting event at Levi's Stadium.
